Dimsport Race Evo with Genius
Dimsport have been at the front of tuning system development for many years and have developed the Genius Flasher and the file modification software Race Evo. Genius and Race come as a combined package, though it is possible to take Race Evo without Genius, it is not possible to use Genius without Race
Designed for the tuner who requires the independence and accuracy, Genius and Race provide an easy to understand and use system complete with ongoing technical development and technical support.
RACE is a professional application system for engine control units, Developed for use with the major manufactures vehicles and equipment fulfilling all demands of an integrated developed environment in the following points:
+ User-friendly with training to learn the use of the program
+ Flexible structure as a modular system and extension option by a great variety of additional tools including BDM and Emulator
+ Automatic conversion of hexadecimal/decimal data set into relevant parameters (ignition timing, boost pressure, etc…).
+ Table data sets, 2-D linear and 3-D chart graphical representation of complete data sets with specific maps identified
+Parallel representation of complete data sets and single maps visualization
+ Graphical and numerical representation of the difference between original and modified parameters
+ OBDII serial reading and programming operations
+ Real time checksum recalculation modules
- RACE COMES WITH FULL TRAINING

Race Basic
Race Standard
Race Plus
All versions of Race are designed to open the file read from the ECU or Eprom, the three versions of Race do this in different ways.
RACE EVO BASIC: DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM! A CHALLENGE FOR YOUR TECHNICAL SKILLS …
If you aim to be free to search the map data sets or if you feel to be experienced in map searching and you wish to have a more powerful software for your developments, RACE EVO BASIC is the version for you. It enables the search of map data sets with a wide range of options.
RACE is structured with two RAM memories, the tuner can load one original file in RAM1 and a modified file of an analogous ECU system in RAM2 to find the difference in parameter sets.
RACE EVO BASIC enables the possibility to unscramble ECUs encoding algorithms: the tuner selects the ECU (example BOSCH EDC16 or ME9, etc.) to have the complete content of the eprom file "in clear". RACE EVO BASIC has been developed to allow map searches in the most professional way. It enables the user to identify the working engine parameters without technical support. The tuner can find by himself the different map areas, revs/speed limiters, checksum areas, etc.. The eprom file is shown in decimal or hexadecimal numbers, 2 D and/or 3-D chart. This version of RACE requires advanced skills as well as experience in map location and tuning. Race Basic is for experienced tuners
Race Standard
&
Race Plus
If you are new to tuning then the logical choice will be Race Standard or Race Plus.
Both systems come as a package and include: training, online, telephone and fax support, future development and updates, so what you are buying is a total solution.
RACE EVO STANDARD: THE TECHNICAL SUPPORT. WE LOCATE ENGINE WORKING PARAMETER MAPS, YOU RECALIBRATE & OPTIMIZE THEM…
RACE EVO STANDARD allows the user to work on injection, ignition (real degrees of advance), boosting parameters, correction maps, rev./speed limiters avoiding problems tied to map locating.
This is possible by the "SETTING FILES" which locate the data set areas containing all the important parameters controlling the engine working.
These maps are edited in three forms:
These maps are edited in three forms:
- in a numeric table (Cartesian diagram)
- in a 3-D chart
- in a 2-D diagram
To make the mechanism clear and to show the importance of this kind of technical support, here you can see the visualization of a normal editor program: pages and pages of HEX/DEC information.

With Race you can interpret the maps and graphs into understandable easy to use Graphs and tables and the "SETTING FILES" available for RACE EVO STANDARD and RACE PROFESSIONAL
use SETTING FILES which
allow you to immediately recognise individual maps on the significant data sets identified as engine working maps. The SETTING FILES can be imagined as filters, DECODING MASKS specific for RACE interpreting the binary/hex logic of the original data set. This information is decoded and converted into real parameters (injection, boost, etc…) allowing simple technical evaluations of tuning purposes.
FIRST SELECT THE BRAND, THEN SELECT THE TYPE AND MODEL

Then a menu page shows for all the vehicles the list of maps available: injection, ignition, boost, rev limiter, correction maps, etc..
The list of maps allows you to choose the exact parameters to work on. The map - in this case ignition timing (spark advance at part load) - is always visualized as a Cartesian diagram with RPM (revs per minute) and LOAD as axes.
The modification can be done on numeric values and in the two-dimension graph diagram. You can increase or decrease the values with percentage or absolute variations.

All the maps can be visualized as numeric tables, 2-D diagrams and 3-D charts. This last option is particularly useful to examine data sets in order to find imperfections and irregular configurations of the curve, etc

RACE gives the opportunity to compare different files (i.e. a modified file with the original of the same car). The differences can be reported numerically (+00000 where there are no differences between the two files) and graphically.
For example, here below the boost pressure limiter of an Audi A3 2.0 TDI EDC16/EDC16+: the 3-D chart shows the configuration of the curve. The SETTING FILE converts HEX code into absolute pressure millibar. On the right side, the numeric table shows the difference between original and modified parameters: the pressure has been increased of 200 millibar, that is 0,2 bar.

The increase of 200 millibar can be examined in the 3-D chart as well.

Want to identify the RPM limiter? Easy with RACE!

If you want to modify a specific map in a linear, semi-automatic way, there is another interesting, profitable function working for you: the FLOOR SUM.

This function of RACE allows the tuner to increase or decrease values in a pre-selected area. This section can be imagined as a surface represented by the 'floor': the tuner determines the increment for each value located in the four corners of this "floor". Obviously all the values located in this section will be interpolated: A precise and more logical modification is therefore achieved in a few seconds, This semi-automatic system permits precise and homogeneous modifications of the original maps.

If you have a look at the values on the map, you will see the modified area and the logic of the modification… And you can also check, on the 3-D chart, the area modified and what you have added for the modification…

Let us say that the program in this situation works for you… Another important function assured by RACE is the immediate view of the maps previously modified when comparing two different files (one loaded in RAM1 and one in RAM2): a clear symbol identifies the maps where there are differences between the two RAM memory files

COMMERCIAL VEHICLES & LIGHT/HEAVY TRUCKS:
APPEALING APPLICATION TO REDUCE THE CONSUMPTION
If you are involved in COMMERCIAL VEHICLES and/or LIGHT & HEAVY TRUCKS, a specific version of RACE allows improvement in torque and power to reduce fuel consumption, with more satisfactory and effective driving operations. Samples modified files are supplied to guarantee good results in torque improvements as well as fuel consumption decreases. Some examples:

REMEMBER! WITH RACE WE GIVE YOU TRAINING AND TEACH YOU HOW TO MODIFY FILES YOURSELF. WE ALSO GIVE YOU ONGOING TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND DEVELOPMENT OF NEW ECU's AND VEHICLES.
Despite what other tuners may tell you, modifying files is a simple proccess, once you have learned how on our training course.

RACE PLUS
RACE EVO PLUS: RACE STANDARD+RACE BASIC+EXTRA FEATURES
RACE EVO PLUS: RACE EVO STANDARD+RACE EVO BASIC+EXTRA FEATURES THE GREATEST TECHNICAL EXPLOITATION…!
RACE EVO PLUS joins the highest reliability and ease in recalibration performance tuning assured by RACE STANDARD and the technical developments of RACE BASIC. Furthermore, the combination of the two versions of RACE previously shown includes some additional technical features.

The tuner has the possibility with RACE PLUS only - to see and clearly recognize, in the full eprom file, the location of the maps identified through the setting file, inclusive of the SPECIFIC NAME of the map!

The tuner, after loading a setting file, is enabled to read the name of the maps as indicated in the picture here. To see the next maps, simply push the button "find next". RACE PLUS allows high level tuning intervention starting from the information supplied by DIMSPORT |
